I first painted this creek in the
fall of 1980 as a college student. I was quite pleased with my
work until my instructor said, "That's nice, but I wouldn't
hang it on a wall."
I took great satisfaction in painting
it once again, with more skill, in the summer of 2005. To keep
myself humble, I managed to fall into the creek to avoid messing
with a dangling spider...
Fellow en plein air painters periodically
remind me of my innate ability to immerse myself in my subject
matter.
